Russian forces launched a devastating assault on Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, on Saturday, killing at least four people and injuring over two dozen. The attack began in the early hours with a barrage of drones and missiles that struck multiple targets across the city. Local authorities confirmed that at least three civilians died in this initial wave, and 21 others sustained injuries.

Later in the day, aerial bombs were dropped on Kharkiv’s city center, killing another person and injuring five more. The destruction left behind smoldering ruins and forced rescue teams to carry out dangerous operations under collapsing buildings and burning structures.
This renewed wave of violence comes as hopes for a peaceful resolution to the conflict continue to fade. Ukrainian emergency workers, alongside volunteers, are tirelessly working to save lives amid the rubble, highlighting the severe humanitarian toll of the ongoing war. The city remains on high alert.
